The MCTS Restoration Committee hosted a fundraiser on Monday, Jan. 19, organized by committee member Dr. Ray Mobley to support long-term development and sustainability efforts. The event brought together community residents for amazing food and meaningful cause.
The fundraiser was held across from the Department of Corrections, on 382 SW MCI Way, in Madison and featured a sandwich plate sale from 11 a.m. until sold out. Plates were priced at $10 and up. Guests were served ribs, fish and chicken sandwiches, prepared by local cook Steve Barrette, whose food received positive feedback from the community.
Mobley said the fundraiser is part of a larger plan to pay off land recently purchased by the MTCS Restoration Committee. Once the land is paid for, the committee plans to seek grant funding to help create sustainable programs and services that benefit the entire community.
“Our goal is to help the entire community,” Mobley said. “We want to build something that will last.”

One of the committees long-term goals is the construction of a multipurpose building to support MCTS initiatives and provide space for community programs, including a vocational school and recreation center. For more information, contact Steve Barrette at (850) 543-9143.
