Madison County Sheriff David Harper has announced the formulation of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Charity Fund. The fund is officially a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, meaning people can donate and receive the tax benefit of a charitable donation. Donations made to the fund will be used to help Madison County residents who may find themselves in an emergency situation, such as a house fire leaving them suddenly homeless. “We want to make a difference in someone’s life when they need it the most,” said Sheriff Harper. With this being a 501(c)3 charity, people can rest assured that it is a legitimate charity, plus they can have the added benefit of a tax deduction.
