The Madison County High School (MCHS) Marching Band camp is starting next week, on Monday, July 21. All students in high school who plan to participate in the 2025-2026 Marching Band season with the Vaquero Guard must attend this camp, taking place at MCHS, to be a member of the band. This camp will be from Monday-Friday, beginning at 8 a.m. and ending at 5 p.m.
During the day, students will work on marching fundamentals out in the practice field, as well as musicality and techniques for their instruments to use in the upcoming season. Drop-off time is at 7:30 a.m., and campers are expected to be out on the field by 8 a.m.
Campers must wear athletic clothing and close-toed shoes — anyone in Crocs or slides will not be allowed to participate. Campers should also bring a refillable water bottle and snacks for throughout the day, as the weather will be extremely hot and marching in the sun can be exhausting. Water and some snacks will be provided by the many sponsors of the Vaquero Guard. Campers must also bring their instrument they plan to march with and show music will be provided.
