The Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowboy golf team has hit the links and the 2026 season is in full swing. The season began with a match against the Hornets of Lafayette High School on Monday, Aug. 24, at the Madison RV and Golf Resort. The Hornets came out on top with a team total of 166, to the Cowboys’ 184. Kadence Eastham shot a 41, followed by Trent Rosenberg’s 42 strokes. Aiden Mackenzie shot a 50 and Grady Jones finished the day with a score of 51.
On Thursday, Aug. 27, the Cowboys hosted Union County High School. The Cowboys were edged out by just two strokes 190-192. Eastham had the top score of the afternoon with a 35. Rosenberg shot a 44; followed by Jones with a 54, and Ryder Adkinson with a 59.
On Tuesday, Sept. 1, the Cowboys faced the Warriors of Aucilla Christian Academy. The Warriors won the match 161-178. The Cowboys did show improvement overall with Eastham turning in a score of 38, Rosenberg shot a 39, Jones had a 49 and Mackenzie shot a 52.
Coming up for the Cowboys will be the Big Bend Tournament at Wakulla Sands on Tuesday, Sept. 22, then a match with the Bulldogs of Taylor County High School at the Madison RV and Golf Resort on Monday, Sept. 28.
