Marie R. Smith was born and raised in Madison County. She grew up on her family’s cattle ranch, which she is still involved with today.
Marie graduated from Madison County High School and attended North Florida College before going to work at the Property Appraiser’s Office in 2001. She began working as a field appraiser and continued advancing in the office until being elected in the Primary election August 2024. She and her husband, Travis, live on their family ranch and have one son Blaine.
Her responsibilities as property Appraiser are constitutionally charged with the duty and responsibility of placing a fair, equitable and just value on all real and tangible personal property in Madison County. Real property includes land and al buildings, structures, and improvements to the land.
