Wednesday, Sept. 23 is home to a day of student-led prayer that takes place all over the world, “See You at the Pole” (SYATP). SYATP has been a global tradition since 1990, drawing millions of students to attend in the first few years. Students organize and gather around their school’s flag poles, creating fellowship and praying for the year to come. This year’s prayer theme was “Come to Me,” based on the scripture Matthew 11:28 (“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”).
Students from four of Madison County’s schools participated in “See you at the Pole” this year. Madison Creative Arts Academy (MCAA) and Madison County Central School (MCCS) held their gathering at 7 a.m., and Madison County High School (MCHS) and James Madison Preparatory High School (JMPHS) students gathered at 7:40 a.m. Each school’s students celebrated their faith and fellowship in prayer around the flag pole.
