Do you enjoy photographing the outdoors? Would you like to be recognized as a winner in the Madison Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Photo Contest in conjunction with the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD) and the NACD Auxiliary? If you would, the rules are simple: You must be a Madison County resident and the photos must be taken in Madison County within the four NACD Photo Contest categories. J + J Strong and Futch's Tractor Depots of Madison and Live Oak will be sponsoring the contest at the local level with Madison SWCD and will award $50 to each category winner in two age groups.
Competition is open to both amateur youth and amateur adult photographers. Individuals 19 years and older as of Dec. 1, 2021, will comprise the adult category, those younger will be in the youth category. Contestants may enter up to five total photos per category, in any of the following categories:
1. Conservation Practices
2. Close-up Conservation
3. Conservation in Action
4. Agriculture and Conservation Across Madison County (Local contest: Madison County, Fla.)
Contestants are not permitted to make digital changes, other than cropping or red-eye removal. Borders, frames, backgrounds, watermarks, dates, signatures or copyright images are not allowed on entries. Photographers should request permission before taking photos of individuals and properties belonging to others. An 8”x10” hard copy is required along with a digital copy.
All Madison SWCD Photo Contest entries are due to the Madison SWCD office by Monday, Nov. 22, to compete in the local photo contest.
Entry forms and rules may be obtained by emailing swcd.madison@outlook.com or may be picked up by appointment only at the Madison SWCD office, located at 182 NW College Loop, Unit B, Madison, Fla. 32340. Any questions concerning the local contest, please contact Madison SWCD at (850) 869-0337.
