During the regular lunch meeting of the Madison Rotary Club on Wednesday, May 27, the members heard a presentation from Liz King, founder of Charlotte’s Hope Ministries. Charlotte’s Hope derives its name from two relatives of King’s who were both tragically lost, one in an alcohol-related car accident; the other to suicide. The goal of Charlotte’s Hope is to provide help and support for women who may be going through challenges. The Madison Rotary Club meets each Wednesday, at 12 p.m., at the Villa Maria Social Hall of the St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, located on Orange Ave., across from Beggs Funeral Home, in Madison. Taking the Rotary motto, “service above self” to heart, the local Rotarians have supported many local service projects, ranging from providing books to local elementary schools to area disaster relief and more.
