Madison County Sheriff Ben Stewart reports that on Tuesday, Dec. 1, Madison County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Brian McIntosh met with a complainant that reported she had hired Roberto Camero, 54, of Madison, to repair/replace her residential heating/cooling system. Camero further collected $3,500 up front to start the job and all he has completed since was removing the unit, leaving her with no heat. The complainant concluded that there has been no success with contacting Camero to either complete the job or refund the money paid. Deputy McIntosh was unable to locate Camero during the investigation but was able to determine that he was not a licensed contractor. Deputy McIntosh completed the necessary reports to include a request for capias and forwarded them to the Third Circuit State Attorney’s Office. A warrant for the arrest of Camero was issued. On Saturday, Dec. 26, Camero was located and the warrant for his arrest was executed without incident. Camero has been charged with cheating, grand theft and contracting without a license.
