The Madison Garden Club met for a special meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 6. During this meeting, a tribute service was held in memory of their former disc jockey, Jim Jenking, who passed in May. Songs such as “Love Me Tender” by Jean Fiori, “Hit the Road Jack” by Renetta Parrish, “Crazy” by Tootie Walley, “Can't Help Lovin' that Man of Mine” by Laura Coleman, “Break it to Me Gently” by Mary Miller, Hey “Good Lookin'” by Ashley Beggs and more were played on the piano as group members rejoiced in his memory.
During the lunch portion of the meeting, each member took a moment to pause from their plate and applaud breast cancer survivors while some briefly shared their stories.
Gene Wynn and daughter Jessica Clinard, of Wynn's Daylily Garden were the guest speakers for this special meeting. Jessica Clinard provided information about the family business and what processes they use to take care of their plants.
