Soon, the popping sound of baseballs hitting leather gloves and the ping of softballs striking aluminum bats will join the music of cheering fans and laughing children as they play a game they love. Madison County Babe Ruth Baseball and Softball is currently taking sign-ups for their 2026 season. Youngsters between the ages of four and 18 are eligible to participate.
Tryouts (excluding Tball) will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28. The tryouts are merely to determine the player’s skill level and will not be a determining factor on their ability to participate. Opening Day will be held on Saturday, March 28. Both the tryouts and Opening Day will take place at the Madison County Recreation Park, located at 753 SW Anastasia Way, in Madison.
