Since 1925, after Helen Keller challenged Lions International to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness,” the service organization has taken on the task of improving eyesight for hundreds of millions. In addition to the many other service projects in and around Madison, the Madison Lions Club still carries that challenge.
With the help of Cucinella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria, the Madison Lions Club is actively collecting gently used prescription glasses, sunglasses and reading glasses in the Madison Lions Club Eyeglass Collection Box, located inside Cucinella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria. The Madison Lions Club collects these glasses and works to put them to good use, helping people in need of vision assistance.
You can drop used eyeglasses off at Cucinella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria, located at 210 SW Rutledge St., in Madison. Simply look for the Madison Lions Club Eyeglass Collection Box.
The Madison Lions Club, Madison’s longest serving service organization, meets every Tuesday, at 12 p.m., at Cucinella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria.
