Dear Editor and Good People of Madison County
Please allow me to respond to the lengthy article in your May 2 newspaper concerning improper payments received by Madison School Districts employers. For thirty years i worked for the Madison County school system-for 8 years as a school psychologist and for 22 years as a high school guidence counselor. During my years at the high school, I worked ‘down the hall’ from Shirley Joseph and Robin Hill. Never ever, in any of those years, did i ever glimpse any evidence of anything but integrity and dedication. Both Shirley and Robin were held in the highest esteem by all who worked with them. They were team players and they both worked tirelessly to assure that Madison County High School and it’s students were successful.
Therefore, I find it hard to believe that there was any intentional wrongdoing in accepting checks during times of extreme stress, fatufue and attempts to care for not only the school system but also the entire county of Madison.
Thank you for allowing me to express my opinion and my whole-hearted support for these two women who dedicated their long careers to making the Madison COunty School system all that it is today.
