It's hot. It's humid. It's July in North Florida, and this is a great time to appreciate the wonderful aromas involved in gardening. Your arm brushes a tomato vine, and instantly its pungent scent rises into the air. Because the temperature is warm, the plant's odor-causing molecules enter the air more quickly, increasing the intensity of your olfactory experience. The humidity traps that smell and causes it to linger, letting us enjoy it longer.
