In an effort to inform Madison County voters about the candidates running for both the Madison County Board of County Commissioners and Madison County School Board, a pair of political forums are planned. Sponsored by Greene Publishing, Inc. and moderated by Madison County Clerk of Courts Billy Washington, this will be an opportunity for voters to hear first-hand where the various candidates stand on a variety of topics and issues facing Madison County. The forums will be free and open to the public.
The forum for those seeking office on the Madison County Board of County Commissioners will take place on Thursday, July 23, at 6 p.m., in the Madison County Courthouse. The candidates from District One appearing on the August 18 ballot will be: Chris O’Brian, Daniel Plain and Gregory Vickers. Candidates in the District Two County Commission race are: Will Oberschlake, Tyler Shadrick and Wayne Vickers. All the candidates have received invitations to participate in the forum.
The forum for those seeking office on the Madison County District School Board is set to take place on Thursday, July 30, at 6 p.m., in the Madison County Courthouse. The candidates seeking office in the District One School Board race are: Katie Knight and Byron Poore. In the District Five School Board race are: Donnell Davis, Mike Maurice and Jonathan Mazzella.
