Katie Knight is a proud mother of two, local business owner, and dedicated community leader who has spent her life serving the families of Madison County. She believes strong schools are the foundation of a strong community and is committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.
As the owner of We Insure Madison and co-owner of Champion Fitness, Katie brings extensive experience in business management, financial oversight, budgeting and leadership. Her professional background has equipped her with the skills necessary to make responsible decisions, manage resources effectively, and advocate for taxpayers while supporting educational excellence.
Katie currently serves on the Madison County School Board, District 1, where she has successfully represented students, staff and families for the past three years. She is the district’s only Advanced Certified Board Member, demonstrating her commitment to continuous learning and effective governance. During her tenure, she has focused on student achievement, staff support, fiscal accountability, transparency and ensuring every decision is made with students’ best interests at heart.
Beyond her professional and board service, Katie has a long history of serving Madison County residents. Following Hurricane Idalia, she served in a leadership role as the County Volunteer Coordinator, helping organize volunteers, resources, and recovery efforts for families across the community. She also co-founded the Madison County Strong Long-Term Recovery Group (LTRG) and continues to serve in a leadership capacity, helping secure resources, coordinate recovery efforts, and assist residents as they rebuild after natural disasters. Through these efforts, she has worked alongside local, state and national partners to ensure Madison County families receive the support they need during times of crisis.
Katie remains committed to being a voice for students, staff, and families and will continue working to build a stronger school system and a stronger Madison County for future generations.
