My name is Chris O'Brian, and I am running for County Commissioner District 1 because I believe our community deserves leadership rooted in service, accountability and common sense. I have spent my life serving others, and I want to bring that same commitment to the people of Madison County.
I am a veteran, a former deputy sheriff, and the founder of a service dog nonprofit. Each part of my background has shaped who I am today and why I am asking for your vote. My military service taught me discipline and sacrifice. My time in law enforcement taught me the importance of public safety, fairness, patience and working with people from all walks of life. Founding a service dog nonprofit taught me compassion, perseverance and the value of helping people overcome real challenges in their daily lives.
I am running because I believe county government should work for the people, not around them. We need leadership that listens, solves problems and makes decisions that reflect the values of the families who live here. I want to help guide our county in a way that protects what makes it special while preparing it for the future.
My platform is centered on managed growth, maintaining our small-town values, supporting local business and agriculture and improving infrastructure. I believe growth is necessary, but it must be done responsibly. We cannot allow unchecked development to overwhelm our roads, our services or the character of our community. We need smart planning that balances progress with preservation.
I also believe strongly in protecting the small-town values that define our way of life. That means respecting neighbors, supporting families, and keeping our community close-knit and strong. It means making decisions that put residents first and never losing sight of the people we serve.
Supporting business and agriculture is also essential. Local businesses create jobs, strengthen our economy and give our county its identity. Agriculture remains a vital part of our heritage and our future, and I will always stand with the farmers, ranchers and hardworking people who feed this county and keep it moving forward.
Infrastructure is another major priority. Roads, drainage, utilities, and public safety systems all affect our quality of life. If we are going to grow the right way, we must invest wisely in the basic services that families and businesses depend on every day.
I am running for County Commissioner District 1 because I believe in service, I believe in this county, and I believe we can grow without losing who we are. I would be honored to earn your trust and your vote.
