Juanita Kinsey Cone, age 87, passed from the protective arms of her family to be with her Savior on Thursday, May 15, 2025, while in the care of Big Bend Hospice, in Tallahassee, Fla. She was born in Greenville, in Madison County, Fla., to her parents, William Steve Kinsey and Odessa Tyson Kinsey. Born second in birth order, Juanita had four siblings: older brother, Clinton and younger brothers, Roy, Gerald and Johnny. Juanita met and married John H. “Johnnie” Cone, of Greenville, prior to graduating Greenville High School. Having promised her father she would graduate, Juanita returned to night school and earned her diploma – by then she was the mother of four children. Keeping her promise was important to her.
Juanita and Johnnie accepted Christ as their Savior not long after beginning their family. Together, they joined a Baptist church in Perry, Fla., and then, after returning to their hometown to permanently live, became members of the former First Baptist Church of Greenville. One of her final written messages to her children was, “We have only God.”
