My name is Jonathan Mazzella and I am running for Superintendent of Schools as a Republican. My beautiful wife, Karon Mazzella, and I have two children that go to public school right here in Madison County, one at Lee Elementary and one at Madison County High School.
After speaking with hundreds of community members, a common theme emerged: the need for a Superintendent with a strong business mindset. The role of Superintendent is essentially the CEO of the public school system. My wife, Karon Mazzella, and I own businesses here in Madison, Florida, where we have employed dozens of local residents over the years. With 16 years of leadership experience in the Marine Corps and Army, I have honed my ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds. I’ve learned how to leverage a person's individual skill sets and cultivate new ones to achieve our shared goals, which in this case, is providing exceptional service to our customers. In addition to my military experience, I have over five years of business experience, serving thousands of local residents and visitors. I’ve developed a deep understanding of customer care and actively teach my employees to provide genuine service with both love, respect and duty. I believe these skills and experiences fulfill the needs of the community for a business mindset, and make me a viable option for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
