Jessica Mullinax, age 28, passed away peacefully, at Shands Hospital, on Thursday, May 23. Jessica was born in Tallahassee, Fla., on Sept. 18, 1995, and lived in Madison, Fla., for the majority of her life. She called Eufaula, Ala. home for her middle school years and grew strong roots, there along with lifelong friendships. Jessica embodied independence, and began working at 16, holding several jobs in her adolescence and young adulthood. She was a graduate of Madison County High School, North Florida College and had completed her junior year at St. Leo University at the time of her car accident in 2016. She was employed as a legal secretary at that time, and perhaps would have made a career in law, as she was a staunch defender of any cause for which she felt strongly. She was known for her quick wit, love of puns, incredible intelligence and an affinity for correct grammar and spelling. She was quite the “wordy girl,” and could spend hours reading a good book. Some of these traits caused quite a few lively “showdowns” throughout her childhood, but her persistence usually won you over to her side. She was a trustworthy and loyal friend.
At eleven years old, Jessica became a big sister to Trey, and loved bossing him around almost as much as she loved to love on him. She loved him fiercely, and even in her post-TBI days and memory loss, she could recall details about Trey from throughout his entire life.
