Eligible seniors in the Class of 2026 are encouraged to apply for the Hometown Heart Scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic school year. This scholarship was created to recognize and support graduating seniors who demonstrate leadership, resilience, strong character and a commitment to the community.
The Hometown Heart Scholarship is open to students who are graduating from Madison County High School or James Madison Preparatory High School and are members of the boys’ or girls’ varsity basketball teams. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and plan to attend a college, university, community college or technical school after graduation.
As part of the application process, students are required to submit a completed application along with a personal essay of at least 500 words, highlighting their experiences, character and community involvement.
All applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 1, by 11:59 p.m. Students may apply by using the application link posted on the Madison County High School’s Facebook page. Those who need assistance with the application process are encouraged to visit their school’s guidance officer for support.
