Home mortgage rates fluctuate

Rick Patrick rick@greenepublishing.com According to the Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) from the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac), the U.S. weekly mortgage rate average, as of Tuesday, March 17, was 6.11 percent for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage. Although the rate has seen an uptick since it dipped below five percent near the end of February, it is still lower than the beginning of 2025.
