Rick Patrick rick@greenepublishing.com Potential homeowners had a bit of good news at the end of 2025, as mortgage rate dropped at the end of calendar year 2025. According to the Primary Mortgage Market Survey (PMMS) from the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac), the U.S. weekly mortgage rate average, as of Wednesday, Dec. 31, was 6.15 percent for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage. This is down from the near seven percent at the start of the year. This is seen as an encouraging sig
