Being the single mother of two is an understandably challenging task. Add to that, holding down two jobs while going to school, working toward a teaching degree, and it can seem overwhelming for even the strongest of people. However, when a serious health problem is thrown into the mix, it can be devastating. That is the situation being faced by Trissa Proveaue.
After recently visiting the emergency room with severe abdominal pain, added to other recurring symptoms Proveaue has suffered over the last year, she was diagnosed with an ischemic bowel blockage, along with multiple hernias in her abdomen. In addition, she had a large growth in her stomach that needed to be removed.
After being air-lifted to Tallahassee, she was scheduled for a very extensive surgical procedure on Thursday, Aug. 3. The surgery was successful and she was soon scheduled to be released from the hospital. However, that is not the end of the story. Proveaue now faces a long recovery period, as well as mounting medical expenses. A GoFundMe account has been established to help with her medical expenses.
