After a Madison County teenager was involved in a car accident that caused serious injuries early Monday, Feb. 12, she is now on her way to recovery.

Erin Jarvis
Erin Jarvis, 17, of Madison, was traveling eastbound on Little Cat Rd. at approximately 7:40 a.m., when her vehicle traveled off the roadway, onto the unpaved shoulder. The rear of Jarvis' 2008 Toyota Rav4 began rotating, and the driver side of her vehicle collided with a tree. Jarvis' Rav4 then spun off the tree and came to a final rest. Jarvis was transported by ground to TMH, where she was immediately treated for her injuries. Jarvis suffered fractures to both of her femurs along with bruised ribs she underwent a successful surgery on Monday, Feb. 12.
Erin has been doing personal therapy by herself for approximately a week now. In doing so, her personal therapy is helping her walk a little better. Her physical therapy starts Monday, Feb. 26 and will be a 12 week process.
In an effort to help the Jarvis’s family with expenses related to her accident, “Erin Smiles” wristbands are being offered. While there is a suggested donation of $10, any amount that can be provided will be accepted, as it will be put to good use.
Please see any Becky’s Dance Steps Studio Dancer or mom for a wristband, or you can pick a wristband up at the studio. Wristbands can also be picked up at We Insure Florida, behind Busy Bee. The wristbands will be in by Saturday, March. 3, if not sooner. You are asked to submit a pre-order. Becky's Dance Steps Studio is located at 438 E. Base St., in Madison
You can also leave your request for wristbands on the “Erin Smiles” Facebook page. This page was created to honor Erin and help her family with out-of-pocket expenses. The name “Erin Smiles” is definitely fitting when describing this beautiful young lady. She has a kind, gentle and caring heart and a smile that lights up the room. Her amazing smile and infectious laugh brightens the day of all who are around her. Her smile is the one constant thing she has kept throughout this difficult time. She is loved by so many and the “Erin Smiles” fundraising team asks anyone, who is able, to donate to this benefit to aid in her recovery.
There is an account set up in the name of Erin Smiles at Madison County Community Bank for donations. Madison County Community Bank is located at 301 E. Base St., in Madison.
