One of Madison's most beloved eateries will soon undergo a major transformation, in front of millions of viewers, when Grumpy's Diner on Main becomes the subject of the popular television show, “Restaurant: Impossible.” Hosted by Chef Robert Irvine, a 56-year-old celebrity chef and talk show host from Salisbury, U.K., the show faces the challenge of saving struggling restaurants with a $10,000 budget, in just two days.
Local residents have the opportunity to be among the first to see the transformation in person when Grumpy's Diner holds their grand re-opening on Tuesday, Feb. 1, at 7 p.m.
Dine with Grumpy’s and be one of the first patrons to see the newly renovated space. If you are interested in making a reservation at Grumpy's Diner on Main for their grand re-opening, please email the Restaurant: Impossible production at reservationsimpossible@gmail.com by Tuesday, Jan. 25, at 12 p.m. (PST). Please use the following in your subject line: 2005/ GRUMPY’S DINER ON MAIN RESERVATIONS.
Please note: Production will not cover the cost of your meal - you will be responsible for paying your own bill. This event is first come first serve by email and Restaurant: Impossible cannot guarantee everyone who responds will get a table. If you are selected, you will receive a confirmation email close to the date of the dinner. Unfortunately, no guests under eight-years-old will be able to attend.
COVID safety: The ultimate goal is to ensure the re-opening of the restaurant is a safe environment for guests, the restaurant staff and the production crew. So please be prepared for the following:
• All guests will be required to take a COVID test prior to dining - masks will be required to be worn by all guests at all times. Of course, once the service starts and you get your food you will be able to take them off.
• Social distancing will be practiced on set.
• Please include your contact information (full name, email address, cell number) your party size (number of people at your table) and the names of the people in your party.
