Beverly Watts is a mother of two sons, ages nine and 14; and a loving wife to her husband, Terrance Watts. She worked hard as a dietary manager at Lake Park of Madison Nursing and Rehabilitation, devoting her entire being to helping others. Watts volunteered daily with youth, in the community, and at church. Sadly, she spent her most recent birthday in the hospital, unable to celebrate 41 years of wisdom and experience.
Watts tested positive for COVID-19 back in August and later developed pneumonia in both lungs due to complications of the virus. Three weeks ago, she went to Madison County Memorial Hospital where she received her initial treatment. However, her case was proving to be difficult. After two days, she was transferred to South Georgia Medical Center for further treatment, and on Labor Day, she was placed on a ventilator. Doctors say they have done all they can do at this point. While she has shown no signs of worsening, there is still no sign of recovery either.
Her best friend, Katie Knight, has started a GoFundMe account to help raise money for Watts' medical expenses. You can donate by going to gofundme.com and typing in the search bar "Beverly Watts." Her fundraiser will be the first one that pops up. If you are unsure, just check that the page says "organized by Katie Knight." Donations are also being accepted at the Madison County Community Bank, located at 301 E. Base St. Madison, Fla. 32340.
Friends and family can also mail or drop off any cards or flowers for Watts at 353 NE Marion St., Madison Fla. 32340, and Knight will make sure to deliver them to the hospital. Knight has requested thoughts and prayers for her best friend, and states, "This is going to take a miracle," as she fears the worst.
