I’m old enough to remember the days when phones would ring with a rather peculiar sound. They would actually ring. There was an actual bell inside the phone and it would literally “ring” when someone called. I know that may sound strange to the younger readers out there, but that’s the way it used to be.
Now, you can choose how you want you phone to sound when someone calls. You can even have a different sound for different callers. I wonder who comes up with those unique ringtones? There’s one particular ringtone that I have heard numerous times on many phones. It goes: “doot-doo-doo-doot-doodle-oot-doot-doot-doot-doo-doot-doo.” Did you recognize it? I would love to have been the guy who came up with that one. If he receives a royalty every time that jingle plays on someone’s phone, I imagine he is a wealthy man now. There are also ringtones with movie themes, popular songs, dogs barking and probably just about anything else you can imagine.
I think I will try to develop my own ringtone that will be so unusual and unique that everyone will want to use it. It’s going to be a simple bell ringing. Yeah, I can just see the royalty checks coming in the mail now! Then, I would definitely be on the sunny side of Easy Street.
