I recently attended an event and heard someone talk about “life lessons.” Some of the items of wisdom struck me as both inspirational and entertaining. I can’t claim these are original ideas, but I felt they are worthy of passing along, nonetheless. Here are some things to ponder:
• Loaning money to friends and relatives can cause amnesia.
• Saying “hi” to someone today can result in a friendship tomorrow.
• You are never too old to try something new.
• It is very difficult to offend someone by being silent.
• No situation is so bad that losing your temper won’t make it worse.
• Of all the four-letter words, “diet” is the worst.
• It is possible to gain two pounds by eating a half pound of fudge.
• Although you may have every right to be angry, you do not have the right to be cruel.
• Never put off saying “I love you,” just as long as you mean it. Else, you may spend the rest of your life regretting not saying it.
• Home is where you can grumble the most and where you are loved the most.
• If you have an enemy, walk a mile in his shoes. Then, if he decides to chase you, you will be a mile away, and you will have his shoes.
• No one has a good enough memory to be a successful fibber.
• If chocolate is derived from leaves and raisins are a fruit, then eating chocolate-covered raisins is the same as eating a fruit salad.
These are just a few things to ponder and think about as you make your way down the Sunny Side.
