This time of year, I'm always baffled by the behavior of the weather. It seems as if every year, at this time, the weather tends to tease us with what it wants to do. It almost seems as if the weather says, “I think I'm going to be a bit cooler today, so you might want to get that sweater out.” Then, later that same day, “No, I changed my mind, it's going to be hot.” I do envy those weather prognosticators on the TV who attempt to make predictions of such fickle climatological occurrences. It seems the only prayer they have of being even close to accurate is to say, “The forecast for today is light. Tonight's forecast is dark. The extended forecast calls for light, then dark, then light, dark, light, dark.”
It almost reminds me of many of the girls I knew at Taylor County Junior High School, when I was much younger. I can't speak for all of them, mind you, but some of my experience was something like, “I'll be nice to you … ummm, I changed my mind.” Or, “You like me? Oh, that's so sweet. Now go away.” Of course, I do realize that was a long time ago and it does live as a possibility that my memory may have been jaded by the years. Many of those girls from Taylor County Junior High School are still friends to this day. Most of them are some of the nicest people I know.
I can honestly say that I no more attempt to predict the weather than to predict the actions of anyone of the opposite gender (I would venture to speculate many of them find me to be just as unpredictable, and possibly annoying). I would dare say that is part of what makes life interesting. How dull would it be if you knew exactly what the weather would be, or if it stayed the same all the time? No matter what the weather decides to do, I hope it always appears to be sunny on your side.
