I am an extremely blessed person in so many ways. I have fond memories of family who may no longer be around. I have loving family members and friends around the world who always manage to lift my spirits just when it’s needed most. I have wonderful people like you who often tell me “out of the blue” how much they enjoy our weekly visits. Not the least of all the things for which I feel blessed is the fact that I work with a great group of people who will celebrate anything at the drop of a hat.
This morning as I made my way through the rain and into the newspaper office, I noticed a couple of my co-workers setting up a table with a decorative pink table cloth and some pink balloons. My natural curiosity prompted me to ask about the reason and I was informed that it was in celebration of another co-worker’s victory over cancer. It had been previously announced that our co-worker had been able to “ring the bell” pronouncing her cancer-free diagnosis and we immediately decided that a celebration was in order.
