I feel that we are friends enough to admit something to y'all. I tend to be a bit of a “pack rat.” I'm sure there's probably some deep seated psychological reason for this. Or, maybe it's because if I throw things away, then I'll have to empty the trash more often. Whatever the hidden reason within my often befuddled mind is, the fact of the matter remains that I have a tendency to hold onto things probably longer than I should. Not just big things either. I still have grocery store receipts from three weeks ago. You never know when you might need that receipt.
Now, you would think that with the advent of computer technology, this would be easier to handle. Less paper means less “stuff,” right? That's not necessarily true. Although, I do sign up for “paperless” options whenever I can with bank statements, etc. That does help alleviate some of the vast abundance of paper I tend to accumulate over an extended period of time. However, one quick glance at my computer screen would quickly reveal a vast multitude of digital photos and documents from weeks and even months ago. My computer desk-top is beginning to look like the digital equivalent of a two-car garage, without room for a car.
