The organizers of Flea Across Florida are encouraging residents and businesses along U.S. Hwy. 90 between Pensacola and Maclenny to “clean out your sheds, garages and closets” and prepare to be a vendor during the mega garage sale. For those planning to make a stop-and-shop road trip out of the event, it's time to make plans for two days of adventurous “treasure” hunting. The dates this fall are Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13, rain or shine, starting at 8 a.m. Sellers are encouraged to register their location on the official Flea Across Florida map, which is linked to the Facebook page for the event. Buyers can access the map to chart their journey and get a sneak peek at who is selling what long the way. Just click on any ecstatic “flea” icon to see more detail about what's at that particular location, whether a residence, store, restaurant or other business. Flea Across Florida has been taking place twice a year – the second weekend of April and September – for more than 21 years.
