Wednesday, March 25, was an exciting evening for members of First Baptist Church of Madison. After a delicious pizza dinner and small talk, the annual Awana Clubs Grand Prix was underway at 6 p.m.

Racers showed off their race cars to the crowd, boasting their creative designs.

There were two main contests during the Grand Prix — one for design, and one for speed. Members of First Baptist Church set their cars at the starting line and cheered as each vehicle crossed the finish line.

At the end of the race, trophies were awarded for best design and top speed. Best design trophies were awarded to: Jake Tyler, First Place; Ellis Nagel, Second Place and Cason Thigpen, Third Place. Trophies for the top three fastest cars were awarded to: Ada Bradfield, First Place; Finn Prince, Second Place and Cason Thigpen, Third Place.
