Madison County Fire and Rescue (MCFR) responded to a structure fire late Monday Nov. 2, at approximately 9 p.m. Heavy smoke was observed coming from the attic of a residence upon arrival.
With assistance from MCFR and the Lee Volunteer Fire Department, firefighters contained the blaze to the attic area, preventing further damage from the structure. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
“We’re proud of the seamless teamwork between agencies that helped bring this incident under control quickly,” said Madison County Fire and Rescue. Officials commended the coordinated response, saying that the cooperation was key to an efficient outcome. “Teamwork saves property, preparation saves lives.”
