Jennifer Morse has lived in Madison County off and on since she was eight years old. She has now resided in Pinetta for the last eight years, and began raising horses before the desire to take up farming took root.
When Morse married her husband, Alan, in 2021, their mutual desire to be self sustaining blossomed into an ever-growing enterprise. Today, the busy couple makes good use of their 30-acre homestead, raising Angus and Jersey cattle, chickens, pigs and ducks. “We don’t go to the grocery store very often,” said Jennifer. “We eat mainly what we produce here.”
Being productive is what Alan and Jennifer are accustomed to, with both having full-time jobs while running a farm that requires constant attention. Alan has worked for 16 years with the Department of Corrections, overseeing maintenance for prisons throughout portions of Florida. Jennifer has been a groomer at Madison Veterinary Clinic for seven years. “I go to bed early and sleep well,” said Alan, describing his daily life, where seeing the sun rise and working well past when it sets is normal.
Their hard work has produced a bounty that is available for others to enjoy, as they are now selling AA milk for calf consumption, homemade butter, cheese and fresh eggs.
