Dorothy (Sawders) Shultz, 92, passed away on Monday, March 31, 2025, at Madison Health and Rehabilitation. Dorothy was born and raised in Akron, Ohio to parent, Harry and Helen Sawders and later married her childhood sweetheart, Jerry. Together, they lived an adventure-filled life around the world with the Air Force and raised three children. After Jerry retired from the military, they settled in St. Cloud, Fla., where Dorothy lived for 49 years before moving to Lee, Fla., to be closer to her daughter, Rhonda.
Dorothy had a variety of interesting jobs, including managing a farm in Maine, working at Walt Disney World and also as a school bus attendant. In her spare time, she was an accomplished golfer and master seamstress, but her creativity and entrepreneurial spirit was most expressed through her love of crafting. She was always working on projects, painting, decorating and making jewelry for herself, family and friends.
