It was a match that gave many of the back-up players for the Madison County High School (MCHS) Cowgirls varsity volleyball team on Tuesday, Sept. 2, when they hosted the Eagles of Highlands Christian Academy, from Valdosta, Ga. The Cowgirls took the match in three straight sets.
During the first set, the Cowgirls had to fend off a late-set rally by the Eagles to win the set, 25-23. The second set was dominated by the Cowgirls, who won the set with a 25-8 score. In the third and final set, the Cowgirl starters took the court and finished the match with a 25-14 score. The Cowgirls won the match, 3-0.
The Cowgirls will again be on their home court on Thursday, Sept. 11, when they host the Lady Trojans of Lincoln High School, from Tallahassee. Both the junior varsity and varsity teams will be in action. The junior varsity match is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity match at approximately 6 p.m.
