A new Cowboy tradition was started on Tuesday, April 25 when the three seniors: Kris Allen, Trey Mitchell, and JD “Mookie” Prince signed home plate. The plate will be hung on the wall in the baseball field-house as a memento of Senior Night 2017.
Cowboys could not have chosen a better way to send the seniors out in style than with a shut-out win. The Cowboys went ahead six runs in the first inning, then added two more runs in the second. The Cowboys added one more “cherry on the sundae” run in the third inning to cement the 9-0 victory.
Drew Annett went one-for-two with one RBI. Dilan Lawson went one-for-three and chalked up two RBIs for the Cowboys. Mookie Prince had one hit in his two trips to the plate, driving in one run. Kris Allen, Trey Mitchell, and Jae Mitchell also had hits for the Cowboys. Trey Mitchell pitched the entire game giving up two hits, no earned runs and striking out five.
