As a kid, I “dis-stinkly” recall my dislike for the nightly bathing ritual that was required by my parents. It wasn’t beyond me to occasionally run the bath water, throw some water over my head, spray Right Guard deodorant profusely into the atmosphere and call it a night. I might even let our cat give me a licking for good measure.
This undesirable trait of mine continued until puberty took root, and I became a different person. Suddenly, there wasn’t enough space in my bathroom closet for all of the sweet-smelling soap, shampoo, deodorant and cologne that was needed to complete my new nightly ritual. It wasn’t uncommon for me to remain in the shower until the hot water heater was gasping for breath in its effort to keep the warm water flowing.
