Jennifer Poore has been announced as the Greater Madison County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director after serving as Interim Director for three months. “Jenn's passion for her family and this community make her the perfect leader to step into this role” stated Pam Schoelles, Chair of the Board of Directors, “[She] has brought a tremendous amount of value this past year, including leading the efforts for our successful 2022 Down Home Days annual event.”
Poore was born and raised in Tampa, Fla., but has been in Madison for the last seven years. She and her husband, Byron, have been married for 21 years and have four children, who were all homeschooled. From oldest to youngest, there is Selah, Eden Joy (EJ), Esther, and their son, Sam. Poore has worked for one year in the Chamber before accepting this position, and plans to make a difference in the community. “One of my goals is to add a shared calendar so everyone in the community can have a place to add their events and see what is going on,” she stated, “I really want to add more events for the town in general and bring people together.”
Speaking of events, Poore mentioned some that are upcoming. On Saturday, July 23, the “Texas Hold Em'” Poker Tournament will commence, with more details to come as the event approaches.
Poore and the Chamber of Commerce Office Manager, Ciara Sweat, are now the faces of the Chamber of Commerce and Tourism office. Poore expressed her gratitude for her colleague and her excitement for this new chapter of her life. “I love the community, and I am super excited about this job and the future,” she said.
