Celebrating freedom with Flag Day

Christian Peterson news@greenepublishing.com Flag Day, annually celebrated on June 14, is one of the more obscure American holidays. But where did this holiday originate? How can one celebrate it and show reverance for the nation's flag?  Flag Day was first proposed in 1861. This occurred shortly after the attack on Fort Sumter, in Charleston, S.C., which started the American Civil War. There, a flag flew above Fort Sumter, bearing 13 alternating red and white stripes, with 33 stars in
