Cheltsie Holbrook cheltsie@greenepublishing.com Wednesday, April 19, made one year since the death of a Pinetta man, Tavares Roshawn Sanders. The Lowndes County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) is still seeking the public's help with this unsolved homicide. On Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at approximately 8 a.m., LCSO deputies responded to the 7200 block of Club Road, in South Lowndes County, in reference to a suspicious event. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the body of a deceased black male, partially in the roadway, later identified as Sanders. His body was found on a dirt road near exit two, in Lake Park, Ga. His vehicle was found abandoned down the road. The cause of death was ruled a homicide. Sanders was last seen leaving work at Popeye's restaurant on Bellville Road on April 18, 2022, after 10 p.m. If anyone has any information on the homicide, they are encouraged to call the LCSO Tip Line at (229) 671-2985.
