There is a new business in town offering a variety of healthy drinks, teas, smoothies and more. Base Street Nutrition opened their doors three weeks ago, under the ownership of Live Oak native, Brianna Shearer.
At Base Street Nutrition, customers can find meal replacement shakes, energy drinks, teas and protein shakes that have a much better flavor than many protein shakes. “No, they don't taste like mud,” said Shearer with a laugh.
The local store is an off-shoot of a successful store, Inside Out Nutrition, in Live Oak. Shearer said she helped her sister with the Live Oak store before deciding to “take a leap of faith” by opening the Madison location.
Local teachers will enjoy “Teacher Tuesdays” when all school staff will receive a discount at checkout, every Tuesday. During the month of November, until Thanksgiving, customers can bring in one or more canned food items and receive a dollar off any loaded tea beverage. The canned foods will be donated to charity to help feed families in need during the holidays.
A special “Christmas Extravaganza” is planned for Friday, Nov. 25, at Base Street Nutrition. During the event, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., there will be a special Christmas menu, giveaways, a photo booth, loyalty cards, t-shirts and more.
Base Street Nutrition is located at 687 E. Base St., in Madison. Their hours are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
