My name is Bart Alford, and I am seeking the office of Superintendent of Schools for Madison County. I understand the challenges and accountability that come with this office. My experience as a school board member and my work in the classroom has prepared me with the leadership skills and the institutional knowledge necessary to guide the district. Every student in our county deserves a high-quality education, and our moral obligation as a district is to provide it. Continuous growth in the school district will occur through a systematic plan focusing on transforming teaching and learning, where all students demonstrate academic growth and achievement.
I served on the school board for 20 years (2002-2022). I worked with five superintendents and served as chairman for six years. I received Master Board training twice and held the distinction of Certified School Board Member from the Florida School Board Association.
