On Saturday, Dec. 10, a large group from The American Legion Riders Post 224, in Cherry Lake, came riding into town bearing gifts for the Marine Corps Reserve's Toys for Tots campaign, which is led locally by the Madison County Sheriff's Office, with Public Records Custodian Tammy Tuten coordinating the toy drive.
This year, the American Legion and Legion Riders contributed $550, and they raised a total amount of $2,700, thanks to the contributions of local businesses. Six large boxes of toys were collected, ensuring that many kids will have a much brighter Christmas this year.
