It’s common to use music to lighten stressful situations. Waiting rooms and dental offices have employed music to calm the nerves of anxious patients for many years. As a college student, I listened to classical music to help me focus on studying when I really wanted to be elsewhere.
Until recently, I never considered the bagpipe to be an effective weapon against the stress incurred during war, but recent discoveries have proven otherwise.
