The monthly luncheon meetings of the 55-Plus Club will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 12 p.m., at the Methodist Ministries Center, located at 135 NE Dill St., in Madison. The program will be presented by Mark Nelson, Regional Director for Samaritan’s Purse. Nelson has been with Samaritan’s Purse for 10 years. Before that, he worked with the Florida Methodist Children’s Home where he led a capital expansion campaign to build the Madison Youth Ranch. In addition, he has worked closely with former Governor Jeb Bush and helped manage strategic partnerships and fundraising for former First Lady Barbara Bush’s Foundation for Family Literacy.
The 55 Plus Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month, from September through March, at the Methodist Center, located approximately five miles north of Madison, on Highway 145 (Colin Kelly Hwy.). The luncheon meetings are free of charge and open to any Madison County resident, 55 years of age or older. The luncheon begins at noon, followed by a different program each month.
