The program for the upcoming luncheon meeting of the 55-Plus Club will be provided by Madison County Sheriff David Harper. Sheriff Harper is expected to speak about the various programs the Madison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has to help provide greater safety and security for Madison County’s older population. Among these is the “Silver Stars” program, a free service of the MCSO where an MCSO representative will call on seniors who may be living on their own on a daily basis, to ensure their safety.
The 55 Plus Club meets on the second Wednesday of each month, from September through April, at the United Methodist Center, located approximately five miles north of Madison, on Highway 145 (Colin Kelly Hwy.). The luncheon meetings are free of charge and open to any Madison County resident, 55 years of age or older. The luncheon begins at noon, followed by a different program each month.
