On Friday, Jan. 21, the Madison Creative Arts Academy (MCAA) hosted their annual National Junior Beta Club induction ceremony, at First Baptist Church of Madison, located at 134 SW Meeting Ave. This year, 13 sixth-grade students were inducted into MCAA's National Junior Beta Club. Executive Director Janna Barrs pinned the new sixth-grade inductees during the ceremony.
The Beta Club's motto, “Let Us Lead By Serving Others,” was put into practice as Beta Club members served dinner to the ceremony attendees.
In order to qualify for being invited to join the Junior Beta Club, students must have an average of 92 or higher in all academic classes for the entire academic year, beginning in fifth grade. Inductees are also required to have displayed good citizenship, including a required recommendation letter from one of their teachers. In order to maintain their beta club membership, students are required to sustain a 90 average in each academic class, maintain good citizenship behavior, and complete five service hours a month. Service hours are activities such as tutoring students in lower grades, volunteering in the library, and other projects that are needed around the school.
Congratulations to all of the 2022 inductees, and congratulations to the rest of the Beta Club members, who have maintained academic success and character development by keeping their standing as National Junior Beta Club members.
